LS54/ Let's have a break! 1
Message de here4u posté le 14-01-2024 à 16:16:04 (S | E | F)
Hello dears,

This is an easy exercise that everyone can do.

1) Why are you sad at the beginning of this new year?
2) Why can’t she get into her house?
3) Why is my purse empty?
4) How did she know the news?
5) Why does he look so indifferent to the world around him?

Go for it! with THE FORCE.

Hello dears,

Here are ANSWERS A: given by one of your co-workers.

1) I am a little sad at beginning of this new year because I HAVE LOOKED AROUND ME… and what I saw was not nice. I saw big boys to bully little ones at school or outside of school, teenagers are rude with old people, people do exactly what they want when they want and where they want. Too bad if other people doesn’t like it and are disturbing… I hate egoism…

3) because I HAVE DRUNK IT, i was so thirsty. It was water. I like water. I prefer sparkling water or soda, but I know that they are not good for us.

5) If he looks indifferent, perhaps he is indifferent really. I think it is a catastrophe. I HAVE ALWAYS HATE the indifference. I think it is worst that a little form of violence. When you see someone that is violent, you care for you, you are vigilant, but when you see an indifferent, you don’t know he is. You wait for him to react normally, but an indifferent doesn’t care. He is very dzngerous.

Now, it's your turn to indicate possible mistakes and green will be allowed on the 18th.

Hello dears,

Well, well... You don't like "correcting mistakes", do you? Yet I have other answers waiting in line...

My indications to help you correct ANSWERS N°A: green required!

1) I am a little sad at XXX beginning of this new year because I HAVE LOOKED AROUND ME… and what I saw was not nice. I saw big boys to bully little ones at school or outside of school, changement de construction? OK, mais transition à revoir !teenagers are rude with old people, people do exactly what they want when they want and where they want(ponctuation?).
When you see someone that is violent, you care for youXXXXX, you are vigilant, but when you see an indifferent XXXXXX, you don’t know he is. You wait for him to react normally, but an indifferentXXXXXX doesn’t care. ?? He is very dzngerous.

3)Of course I HAVE DRUNK IT, because I was so thirsty: It was water. I like water, although I would have preferred a glass of sparkling water or soda; even though, I know it is not good for us.(or for my health)

5) If (that man or a person looks indifferent, perhaps he or she really is. I think it is a catastrophe. I HAVE ALWAYS HATED() indifference. I think it is worst than a simple violence. Hello, ce texte développe un point de vue intéressant, je crois comprendre en gros ce que l'auteur veut dire; En fait une personne indifférente pourrait cacher son jeu( could be a hypocrite person who would keep her cards in her chest) et feindrait l'indifférence pour mieux vous piéger (and pretend indifferent in order to trick you) et vous ne vous méfiez pas (and you are not suspicious).

Hello !

Let's suggest (have a break1) ANSWERS B

Question 1:
At the beginning of this year, I am sad to see on television a large amount of people affected by the floods. In particular, the inhabitants of Pas de Calais in France, whose houses have been flooded twice in less than 3 months. Barely the houses have been restored and the residents compensated by the insurance companies, everything was destroyed again. And now it's freezing, what a misfortune! 71 mots
Question 4
how did she know the news? I haven't told anyone yet, even my husband doesn't know. I wanted to wait for the right moment to tell him, but now I must inform him that I'm pregnant before he hears about it from someone else. My god ! he would never forgive me ...53mots

for the work, and for the coming help and comments.

But here, you could put the plural... TTB Magie, Quel bon travail !

Hello !

Barely the houses have been restored and the residents compensated by the insurance companies, everything was destroyed again.

BARELY HAD THE HOUSES BEEN RESTORED AND THE RESIDENTS COMPENSATED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANIES WHEN EVERYTHING WAS DESTROYED AGAIN.

And now it's freezing, what a misfortune!
And now this terrible freezing, what a misfortune !"

Hello Happynutmeg!

BARELY HAD THE HOUSES BEEN RESTORED AND THE RESIDENTS COMPENSATED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANIES, WHEN/ than EVERYTHING WAS DESTROYED AGAIN.

)Lien internet

paragraphe 3.

- pire que : worse … than… (bad/ worse…than…/ the worst... Attention ! Ne mélangez pas comparatifs et superlatifs.
- être violent envers qqn : to be violent TO/ towards/ with/ somebody/ good to sb/ polite to sb/
Mais : to be hard on somebody
- You expect her a normal reaction : la structure est 'to expect something from somebody'.

Magie’s correction
1 ) initial sentence:
At the beginning of this year, I am sad to see ( on television a large amount of people affected by the floods.*
Suggestions:
I'm sad to see so many flood victims on television. (Bien ! )
variante
When I watch at the TV, I am sad to see so many flood victims

- less than + indénombrable// fewer than + dénombrable…
'News': les nouvelles: the news is good. Is the news good? si l'on veut vraiment insister sur l'unicité de la nouvelle, ce qui ne se fait pas souvent, utiliser 'a piece of news'comme dit précédemment.

Hello !

The houses have BARELY been restored and and the residents compensated by the insurance companies, WHEN everything was destroyed again.

Hello!

Merci pour tous ces Follow Up Work!

3) Of course I HAVE DRUNK IT, because I was so thirsty: It/ it was water. I like water, although
I would have preferred a glass of sparkling water or soda; even though, I know it is not good for my health. OK!

5) If a person looks indifferent, perhaps they really are. I think it is a catastrophe. I HAVE ALWAYS HATED() indifference.
I think it is (worse than a plain agression. Facing a vehement person, you take care of / you may fear for/ yourself, you become vigilant, but when you see AN(indifferent person you don’t know who ( they are, (what they are thinking; (You/ you expect a normal behaviour from them, but indifferent person *don’t care about (your feelingS. (They could be very dangerous. OK

* attention : person est du singulier 'an indifferent person doesn't care'... Au pluriel, il faut employer 'people'! 'indifferent people don't care...' one person/ two people.

I must stop now...

Au pluriel, il faut mettre people= a person two people

a person is, they are, their clothes are

Houses has barely restored, and people compensated by insurances... that....
Houses had barely been restored ❤️ mais c'était present perfect imposé

Follow up textB Hello dears

At the beginning of this year, I am sad to see so many flood victims on television B. In particular/ [particularly [juste avec une virgule, sans changer de phrase], the inhabitants of Pas de Calais in France. Some houses have been flooded twice in (fewer than 3 months [mais on trouverait less than partout]. (Barely have the houses been restored and have the residents BEEN compensated by the insurance companies, (that WHEN/ THAN everything was destroyed again. And now it's freezing, what a misfortune! 71 mots

The houses have barely BEEN restored and people have not been fully compensated...( est-ce correct?)[OUI !

4) How did she know the news? I haven't told anyone yet, even my husband doesn't know. I wanted to wait for the right moment to tell him, but now I must inform him that I'm pregnant before he hears about it from someone else. My god ! he would never forgive me...53mots
As soon as my husband came home that evening, In a hurry, I gave my secret away the word; [Je ne vois pas quelle expression tu cherchais... 'I told him my secret'???/ ou simplement 'I gave my secret awat']He was on cloud nine.. TTB

ouf ![Phew! in English!] I have enough/ I've had enough!
TTTB, Magie.

The houses have/ had BARELY been restored and and the residents compensated by the insurance companies, WHEN everything was destroyed again. parfait

Bravo!

Alors, retour vers Magie!

Houses has barely XXXX restored, and people compensated by insurances... that.... NON!
Houses had barely been restored ❤️ mais c'était present perfect imposé...
