Dear everybody, Hello
This statement
"I recall the sample being smaller than this production" has puzzled me for a long time.I wonder if the phrase "being smaller than this production" is object complement or adverbial?
It will be appreciated if you can provide the answer.

Hello,
why adverbial ?
for me:
"I recall the sample being smaller than this production" is the same as:
I remember him posting that letter.
it means: As far as I remember, the sample you sent us was smaller than the object you are producing now.
"I remember that the sample was smaller than this production"
for me, being is a present participle related to the noun sample which is object of the verb recall but subject of the verb being.
